Recognizing Excellence: 2025 Weather Shield Knight’s Honor and Servant’s Heart Winners
Every company has awards, but only a few have honors that truly mean something—recognitions built not on titles or tenure, but on character. At Weather Shield Roofing Systems™, our two most meaningful awards—the Knight’s Honor and the Servant’s Heart—are chosen entirely by peers. They come from the people who see the late nights, the early mornings, the hard conversations, the quiet solutions, and the everyday decisions that show who someone really is.
These awards remind us that while roofing is our business, people are the foundation.
During our 2025 Christmas Party, we announced two standout winners whose names rose to the top through dozens of heartfelt nominations—team members whose actions speak louder than any job description. Today, we’re excited to celebrate them again and share the stories and quotes submitted by the coworkers who know them best.
What Makes These Awards So Meaningful?
The Knight’s Honor and Servant’s Heart aren’t leadership-decided awards. Nobody is nominated because they’re loud, flashy, or campaigning for recognition.
They’re nominated because someone, somewhere in the company saw them show up in a moment that mattered.
Because they made someone’s day easier, or they solved a problem without blame, or they built someone up when they didn’t have to.
These awards reflect the heart of Weather Shield—our Core Values lived out by everyday people doing extraordinary things.
With that, let’s meet this year’s recipients.
2025 Servant’s Heart Award Winner: Kelsey Feddema
Office Staff Recognition
The Servant’s Heart Award recognizes a member of our office staff who goes above and beyond to support their teammates—someone who cares deeply, works diligently, and champions the kind of details that make everyone else’s job easier. This year, the Weather Shield team chose Kelsey Feddema.
And if you read the nominations, the same themes show up again and again: care, kindness, humility, and a mindset focused on helping others succeed.
What Kelsey’s peers said about her:
“Care personally – Always willing to help someone in whatever they may need.”
Coworkers consistently described Kelsey as someone who sees needs before others even speak up. Whether it’s solving a problem or lending an ear, Kelsey shows up with a posture of care.
“Team Player – Quick to hop in and help… If you didn’t have something, she would always ask if you would like something.”
These aren’t dramatic stories—they’re everyday kindnesses, the moments that make a workplace feel human. Kelsey notices, and she acts.
“Always asks how things are going… Always reliable and puts her best foot forward daily.”
Her presence makes people feel seen. That matters more than most realize.
“She has grown in her position so much and is a leader to the guys in the field.”
Kelsey’s leadership doesn’t rely on titles—it’s built on consistency, trust, and service.
“Works hard on every project to help us put our best foot forward.”
Her work ethic has ripple effects across departments.
“Goes the extra mile to help me help the customer.”
Customer success often starts behind the scenes—and Kelsey is one of those engines that keeps things running smoothly.
“Cares about responsibilities while caring for all the guys out in the field… Helps in all areas possible without the need for personal recognition.”
This is the core of the Servant’s Heart Award: doing the right thing because it helps the team, not because it earns applause.
“Builds people up, implements solutions, and is so positive.”
That combination—encouragement + action—is rare and powerful.
Why Kelsey is this year’s Servant’s Heart Winner
Kelsey models what it means to care first and work second. She embodies the idea that even in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment like commercial roofing, empathy and attention to detail are what keep teams strong.
She reminds us that success isn’t individual—it’s shared.
Kelsey, thank you for living out the Servant’s Heart every single day.
2025 Knight’s Honor Award Winner: Austin Drayton
Field Staff Recognition
The Knight’s Honor Award celebrates a field team member who leads by example—someone who embodies integrity, courage, excellence, and the Weather Shield Core Values no matter the circumstances.
This year, that honor went to Austin Drayton, a teammate whose nominations overflowed with stories of responsibility, quality, mentorship, and unwavering character.
What Austin’s peers said about him:
“Every day he goes above and beyond to make sure Weather Shield is an amazing company.”
That’s not a small statement. That’s someone shaping culture through daily actions.
“He is really good and responsible.”
Dependability matters in the field—and Austin brings it every day.
“He’s someone that most people look up to.”
Leadership isn’t a position. It’s influence. Austin has earned both.
“He is an achiever and will get the job done.”
Austin is known for delivering—even when the job is tough or conditions are challenging.
“One word: Quality!!!”
Craftsmanship is a form of integrity. Austin’s work carries his signature.
“Blameless problem solving.”
This phrase captures one of the most difficult and important skills in roofing: solving problems without pointing fingers. It’s maturity. It’s leadership.
“Always coming to work with a good attitude and willing to show someone how to do something right and safe without the need for personal recognition.”
Austin doesn’t just do the work—he builds people. That’s legacy-level impact.
“Makes the difference, and encourages more people to be like him.”
This may be the greatest compliment of all.
Why Austin is this year’s Knight’s Honor Winner
Austin lives out the heart of the Knight’s Honor Award:
- Hard work without ego
- Leadership without title
- Quality without compromise
- Responsibility without excuses
- Influence without seeking attention
He raises standards by how he shows up—day after day, job after job.
Austin, thank you for making Weather Shield better through the example you set.
